Rugs should be vacuumed regularly, at least once a week, to remove surface dirt and debris. For a deeper clean, mix a small amount of mild detergent with warm water and use a soft brush to gently scrub the rug's surface. Avoid excessive scrubbing. Rinse with clean water and blot with towels to absorb excess moisture. Allow the rug to air dry completely before walking on it. For stubborn spots and stains, apply a mixture of equal parts warm water and white vinegar directly on the stain. Gently blot with a sponge and rinse until the stain fades. Absorb any excess liquid with a dry cloth. Flipping the rug over monthly and giving the backside a vacuum helps prevent buildup of dirt and dust. Having wool rugs professionally cleaned every year will remove embedded soil and bacteria, extending the rug's life. Always check rug care instructions before attempting cleaning.
